Sustaining ‘Leadership on the Edge’ with the Next Generation

If you have heard Robert Swan speak, you know that one of the primary motivations in leading his expeditions to Antarctica and speaking to groups around the globe is to inspire the young people of the world to take action in regards to sustainability and climate change. He’s dedicated his life to the preservation of Antarctica for them, and the world they are inheriting.

Wendy Gediman, a 2008 IAE alumni, is a Lower School teacher at TASIS, The American School in England. As part of her commitment towards using her experience in Antarctica to inspire and spread Robert’s mission, she’s created the ‘Environmental Club 2041′ at her school. Utilizing the 2041 curriculum featured on 2041’s education site, she hopes to instill a ’sustainable young person’s Leadership on the Edge‘ in her students. Featuring a mock expedition format, her founding student members are passionate, committed, and can’t wait to learn more about what they can do.

Which is the most 2041 and Robert Swan can ever hope for.
